The driver has been installed, but the control panel does not automatically identify the printer.
If the driver cannot be installed, you are advised to update the serial port driver.Īfter the restart is complete, the following situations may occur:
After the printer has been installed, click Next and restart the computer. Connect the printer to the computer through a USB cable as required and power on the printer. Select the printer model and click Next. 
Select Simple installation and click Next. Return to the desktop and double-click the setup program in the decompressed driver package. Select Server, click More Actions on the right, and select Start. (If this option is not available, skip this step.) Select PrintWorkflowUserSvc, click More Actions on the right, and select Start. Select Printer Extensions and Notifications, click More Actions on the right, and select Start. The VPN, shared printer, or shared LAN can be used only after being configured again. You may need to enter the password again to connect to the previously connected network. In the displayed command prompt dialog box, enter "netsh winsock reset" and press the Enter key. Note: If the system displays a message with an error code indicating that the Print Spooler service cannot be started due to insufficient resources, enter "cmd" in the search box on the taskbar, right-click the app, and select Run as administrator from the shortcut menu. Double-click Print Spooler, set the startup type to Automatic, and click Start and OK. In the list on the left, select Services and Applications and double-click Services. Right-click the computer icon on the desktop and select Manage from the shortcut menu. 
Decompress the downloaded printer driver.
Use the HP LaserJet Pro P1106 as an example, visit the official HP website, go to Support > Printing, enter the printer model, and download the corresponding driver.
Go to the official website of the printer brand and download the driver of the corresponding printer model. Download and install the printer driver and then set the printer correctly.
